Powder coating booth
In powder application process , a powder coating booth is required. It is a kind of enclosure designed for manual operation or automatic spraying system .
Powder booth walls (shell)
Made of painted steel, more often stainless steel, plastci such as polycarbonate, polypropylene or other clear plastic,
Painted steel is adequate but there is some risk that the paint will chip off and contaminate the oversprayed powder in the reclaim system.
Stainless steel makes both shell durable with a smooth surface with easy cleaning.
Plastic sheel
- Collect less charged powder on the walls, easier to clean.
- Allow some light to penetrate into the spray area and help illuminate the process.
- Provide a modest improvement in transfer efficiency.
Recovery system
It is attached to the powder booth shell ,using a fan to pull air into the booth and prevent the over-sprayed powder from migrating out of the enclosure.
Conveyorized systems
Designed for manual application from two sides, automatic application, or a combination of both, depending on the system requirements.
Collector fan
Designed to provide 100-120 lineal feet per minute (lfpm) of air velocity across all openings,In order to contain the over-sprayed powder. The booth will have even airflow throughout the enclosure and not interfere with the coating process. The powder coating booth must be designed with enough ventilation to keep the powder concentration level below 50% of the LEL. The number of guns and nominal powder output per gun determines concentration.
