Ukraine powder coatings account for 2% in the paints and coatings market.

The demand for paints and coatings in the Ukraine is estimated at 355,000 tonnes per year, with a per capita consumption of 7.7 kg. According to “Directory of Paint Manufacturers 2011 – Central and Eastern Europe”, a recently published study by Chem4cee Handels GmbH, about 50 manufactures are operating on the Ukrainian market producing 300,000 tonnes per year.

The structure of the market in terms of volume is as follows: 70-75 % accounts for domestic production and 25-30 % for imported products. Imports of approximately 70,000 tonnes come from Germany, Poland, Russia and Turkey. Exports reach about 15,000 tonnes and are sold to Russia, Belarus, and Georgia.

Architectural and building applications account for 70 % while industrial applications have a share of 30 % in the market. 40 % are waterbased and 58 % are solventbased products, the remaining 2 % are powder coatings.
